Ryan L. Schafer - Director/Producer/Writer
Ryan L. Schafer was born and raised in New York, NY. He graduated from New England College, while taking summer classes at NYU. He has made one documentary, Laredoans Speak: Voices on Immigration. This will be his first fiction feature.
Hebron Simckes-Joffe - Director/Producer
Hebron began his journey in the dramatic arts by adapting his poetry for the stage. From the stage he moved into the world of film. He is an award-winning playwright and filmmaker with training in film production, theory and dramatic writing from various colleges and universities including NYU, FAMU (Prague), Yale Summer Writer’s Program, Middlebury and Chapman. A few of his influences and inspirations: Sam Pollard, under which he studied while at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Quentin Tarantino, Charlie Kaufman, Stanley Kubrik, Katsuhito Ishii, Takashi Miike, David Lynch, Luc Besson, Atom Egoyan, Wong Kar-Wai, Andrei Tarkovsky, Tetsuya Nakashima, Marc Forster, Darren Aronofsy, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Kim Jee-Woon and Nobuhiko Obayashi. With regard to the horror genre, Hebron is currently influenced by Roman Polansky, Stanley Kubrik, Larry Fessenden, Jim Mickle, Eli Roth, Hideo Nakata, Wes Craven, Sam Raimi and Henri-Georges Clouzot.
Victor A. Martinez - Writer/Producer
Victor is a native Laredoan who graduated from University of Louisiana Monroe with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film while becoming ULM's Chapter President of the National Broadcasting Society / Alpha Epsilon Rho. Upon graduation, he was hired as Contributing Producer for USA Networks/Sci-Fi Channel's science fact program "Inside Space." He also worked for Metro Goldwyn Mayer's records and archives department, where he met his writing partner and wrote the story for the Writers Guild of America script titled "Through Death's Eyes." Finally, he co-directed, produced, and wrote the feature documentary "Laredoans Speak: Voices on Immigration."
Micah Brandt - CoProducer
Micah started filmmaking with a documentary project that took him half way around the world to Italy and later onto a Sundance award-winning short called, Exit 8A, directed by an NYU Alumni which won the Martin Scorsese Award that year. Nearly a decade later Micah went onto Managing and Producing his own Feature films realizing the vision of first-time Directors an fulfilling their dreams from concept to reality. Micah's most recent Producing credits include "It's Not a Date," starring Eric Roberts, Nina Hartley, and Spanish Bomb-Shell Mari Cielo Pajares. "From the Dead," staring Pepe Serna, James Duval and Dominiue Swain, and his latest film, "American Sharia," starting stand-up comedian, Omar Reagan. Micah has also completed his Documentary Directorial debut, 'Robbery of the Heart," a passion project coming to a film festival near you, years in the making.
